Swaminarayan khichadi recipe

It is a famous recipe of Swaminarayan . And it is healthy and tasty to eat and everyone likes it.

Material:

1 cup rice
1/2 cup toor dal
2-3 tomatoes,
1 chopped onion
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder Salt as per taste
1/2 cup ghee
6-7 curry leaves
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin

Method:

Step 1

First of all, you have to wash the toor dal and rice thoroughly and soak them for 30 minutes.

Step 2

Now you have to chop the vegetables and crush the green chillies. Take out cloves, cinnamon, bay leaves, star anise and red dry chillies in a plate.

Step 3

Now take oil and ghee in the cooker and heat it. Now add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Later add dry red chilli, curry leaves, cinnamon, cloves, star anise and cinnamon and let it cook. Now add green chillies and peanuts and let it cook.

Step 4

Now add all the vegetables except tomato and mix. Now add salt, red chili powder and turmeric powder.

Step 5

First of all, you have to wash the pulses and rice thoroughly and soak them for 30 minutes. 

Step 6

 mix everything and let it simmer for 1 . Now add water and cook till it comes to a boil. Now add soaked dal and rice and mix.

Step 7

Now add tomatoes, sambar masala and ghee and mix and close the cooker for 3 whistles.

Step 8

Now after the cooker cools down, open the cooker and add ghee on top and mix.

Step 9

Add salt and chilli as per taste, and garnish with green coriander and serve.

Step 10

Now take it out in a serving plate, add ghee on top and serve it with curd or butter milk and papad.
