#Special tips

Use Thick Slices of Bread: Use thick slices of bread, like Texas toast or brioche, to make sure your French toast is sturdy in texture, and can soak in the batter without turning too soggy. Let the

Bread Soak: Soak the bread slices in batter for a few seconds on each side, but don’t soak for too long, or they’ll get too soggy. You need to take in structure but also have some to keep it.

Ton Change the Batter Consistency: You can end up with too soft French toast if the batter is too thin. If it’s too thick, it might not cook evenly through the toast. Dollop in a touch more flour or plant-based milk to adjust the consistency.

Flavor Up the Batter Boost the flavor of your French toast by adding spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg or cardamom to the batter. These spicy spices will make the toast sweeter so that the spices further mixes into your recipe!

Preheat the Pan: And make sure that your skillet or griddle is good and preheated before you add the French toast slices. This creates a golden-brown crust and prevents the toast from sticking to the pan.

Cook Over Lo To Medium Heat: Cooking the French toast on a low to medium heat gives time for the liquidation to fully cook through without burning. Do not cook over high heat, which can make the outside cook too fast and the inside not fast enough.

Don’t Crowd the Pan: When you cook the French toast in batches, as needed, avoid crowding the pan. That will allow plenty of room for each slice to cook through and blister and brown on the outside.

Serve Immediately French toast is best when served straight out of the skillet, while it’s warm and crispy. If you’re doing a few batches, keep the cooked slices in a low oven (that is, about 200 degrees F, or 95 degrees C) until serving.

#Expert tips

Choose the Right Bread: Use bread with a dense crumb and sturdy structure, such as challah, ciabatta or even a day-old baguette. Don’t use very soft flimsy bread because you need something that can stand up to soaking.

Punch Up the Batter: Mix up the flavorings in the batter for next-level French toast. For a turn on the classic, try a teaspoon of almond extract, a pinch of cardamom or a tablespoon of cocoa powder.

Create a Custard Batter: For a rich texture that’s decadent, whisk until thick and custard, This ensures that the French toast is luscious and decadent, its flavor running through it.

Add Citrus Zest: Freshen up your French toast batter by adding citrus zest. Lemon, orange or even grapefruit zest provide a bright contrast to those sweet, rich flavors.

Let It Sit: After you’ve soaked a slice of bread in batter, give it a few minutes to rest. It really lets the batter absorb into the bread more deeply for a more even texture and flavor

Use a Griddle for Even Cooking: Invest in a nice griddle, or a larger family-size skillet with a lot of surface area, unlike a frying pan. Cooking a few slices at once ensures that they all get done evenly, and that they’re done at the same time.

Cornflakes or Nuts: If you want your French toast to be really crispy, coat the soaked bread slices with crushed cornflakes, or chopped nuts or granola before cooking. This results in an enjoyable crunch and flavor contrast with every bite.

Boozy Flavors Ragdoll ed Into the Mix: For a decadent dessert, you might incorporate a splash of liqueur or flavored syrup into the batter. Amaretto, rum or Irish cream can give a gentle boozy hit as well as increase general depth of flavor.

Serve With Accoutrements: You can go as decadent with your toppings as you want! You can take your French toast without eggs over the top, though, with fresh berries, sliced bananas, toasted coconut, or even a dollop of vegan whipped cream.

Savor the Icing with Savory Sides: The sugariness in the French toast complements savory sides, like vegan sausages, sliced avocado, or sautéed mushrooms, for a complete breakfast brimming with nutrients.
